Celtics Look To Repeat Without Leon Powe
Boston Celtics Chicago Bulls | April 21st, 2009 | 6:23 pm | BobbySchaible |Boston Celtics backup forward Leon Powe will miss the remainder of the postseason with a torn ACL and meniscus. Powe injured the left knee in the second quarter of Boston’s game 2 matchup with the Chicago Bulls. Already without star Kevin Garnett, the Celtics are without two of the vital pieces to last year’s championship run. An already weak Boston bench will see forward Brian Scalabrine return to practice on Wednesday. Though they were able to square the series at 1 game a piece, it’s looking more and more unlikely that Laker fans will get the rematch that they have been hoping for.
Can the Bulls do what last year’s Atlanta Hawks team could not and eliminate Boston in the first round? If Derrick Rose and Ben Gordon keep putting up numbers like they have been, then it is very possible…
